I want to kill my father today and not for the usual reason. No, it's not because he's a royal pain in the ass who refuses to do anything for himself but instead plays dumb and helpless. Nor his outrageously arrogant belief that he is, in fact, superior to all other human beings and should be treated as such. It's not even the trail of detritus he leaves in his wake-- I swear I have to clean up after the man more than I cleaned up after both children when they were mere infants. No, it's not any of these things that makes me want to throttle the man. To get to that, let us first take a small trip down to last week...
I was sitting here, minding my own business. Perhaps I was reading. I don't exactly remember. But he usually interrupts my reading. I swear the man just waits for me to lift a book.. Anyway, I digress. Sitting. He tells me that he used my aunt's blood sugar measurer and found out that his blood sugar was ridiculously high. Now I'm sure you're wondering why I didn't question this further before just assuming things looked bleak. My father is overweight, doesn't eat properly unless we force him to, complains and fights us when we do force him to eat properly, refuses to get any proper exercise, etc. Now you see.
I tell him to immediately schedule an appointment with the doctor and get this checked out. So what does he do? He just goes to the doctor, who winds up not being there, is told to wait until Monday, goes back, is chastised by the doctor for not making an appointment, goes to get blood work, yadda yadda yadda...
Let me just note at this point how highly insulted my father was by the doctor's chastisement. He feels that he should never have to make an appointment and wait like everyone else. Because he's special.
Turns out? He's not diabetic. I come to find out that my dear idiot father and my darling aunt should have their heads knocked together because he placed his drop of blood over her drop of blood-- yes, they mixed their blood on the damned measurer-- and got a screwy reading.
Can I divorce only some of my family? Does anyone know?
hee! someone should get that poor mixed up blood droplet a doctor's appointment though. I think it's on borrowed time.
